From March 14 to 17, 2022 BRICS and Asia-Pacific Remote International Skills Competition for Vocational Teachers was hosted by the Russian Skills Development Working Group of the BRICS Business Council. It is one of the series of the BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Competition, and covers 6 fields, including freight forwarding, graphic design technology, industrial design, IT network system management, business software solutions, and mobile application development. 62 teams from 6 countries including China, Russia, India, Iran, Malaysia and Belarus participated in the competition.

Encouraged by the BRICS PartNIR Innovation Center, Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Education and Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, 11 teams from Xiamen City University, Xiamen Ocean Vocational College, Xiamen Technical College, Xiamen Huaxia University, Xiamen Nanyang University, Xiamen Information School and Jimei Industrial College, on behalf of China, took part in the competition. Xiamen Ocean Vocational College won the first place in the freight forwarding competition, and Xiamen City University won the third place in the IT network system management competition.
