Project introduction:

This project focuses on the integration and innovationof new-generation information technology and advanced manufacturing technology, and has developed a high-efficiency industrial vision AI system for intelligent manufacturing. To address the key problems encountered in the application of deep learning based technologies in industrial scenarios, such as long research cycle, high computation overhead and expensive deployment expenditure, we conduct extensive research on the key technologies including automatic machine learning, model compression and edge-could computing framework, and achieve the goal of efficient, fast and low-cost intelligent upgrading for industrial production. Our system supports visual recognition for industrial production, such as the detection of product defects and damage, material identification and grounding and automatic instrument reading, and safety production inspection, including the detections of helmet, safety harness and smoking and so on. More importantly, our edge-cloud computing framework can increase the recognition tasks and improve the processing efficiency of the system without changing the existing production equipment, leading to efficient and low-cost intelligent upgrading. The project is presided over by Professor Ji Rongrong, winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and Nanqiang Distinguished Professor of Xiamen University, and carried out on the platforms of Xiamen University's School of Information and Artificial Intelligence Research Institute.This project can help related companies export their technologies and industries abroad, accelerate the construction of the BRICS new industrial revolution partnership, and promote BRICS cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence, intelligent manufacturing, and industrial innovation.
